My grandmother said one of the reasons she fell in love with my grandfather is because he won her a Kewpie doll at the state fair. Michele Lea's embroidery is just too much! Love it! Thank you, Michele, for reminding me of a sweet love story with your wonderful stitching. 

Wayback Wednesday

When I was a kid I loved Mad Libs. I would force my mother to play Mad Libs with me and if she didn't give me a funny word, I would just fill it in for her. Needless to say, there were a lot of gas related Mad Lib stories.

Whatnomints brought back my childhood with their stitchy goodness.  This piece makes me feel ten years old again and for some reason, I want to put some sort of gassy adjective in there.

This circus panel from I am Susie's grandmother makes me happy. It is so whimsical! Her grandmother embroidered it for Susie's mother when she was a little girl. How wonderful that it still exists and is in the family.

Okay, Pam is not a new blogger, but that doesn't make her any less awesome. In fact, I'm not sure how she could get any more awesome - Pam has been my crafty idol since my early Craftster days, and she is still a Needlework moderator there, and star of their Craftster Quickies series.

I love when people take vintage patterns and update them. Lacerslife created this rotten apple embroidery and it is FAB! I love how all the other apples are happy and having a good time and of course, it takes one bad apple to ruin it for everyone. I think he has the right idea, how happy would you be if you were about to be turned into a pie?

I am so in love with this vintage pattern ThatGirlBecky stitched up. She is the queen of finding the best retro/vintage patterns! Her stitching is perfect and so colorful. I am hoping one day I can channel her thrifting skills and score major vintage patterns and prints.

It's no secret that I love vintage patterns and needlework. I have been collecting both for many years. I am fascinated by  the history behind various patterns and pieces. So many times, I  collect embroidered linens and they remain hidden because I am afraid of ruining the stitched piece. Lovestitches created this beautiful bunting with vintage embroidery. I was blown away by how clever this idea is! I just love it!
