Patterns: From the Depths

WIP "From the Depths" by Corvus Tristis

Today's featured pattern is a bit of an old one, but I hadn't seen it before until it popped up recently on Flickr as part of Giddy99's Duvet Project. I love how Giddy has added her own touch to the design with running stitch.

The picture sent me straight over to the Corvus Tristis blog, where as well as this amazing pattern, there are loads more, with quite a few of the patterns having a science theme.

I can't wait to see how Giddy progresses with this pattern and I can't wait to try a few of the Corvus Tristis patterns out myself!

Hi, I'm Jo - I feature new embroidery patterns Sundays on Feeling Stitchy. I also post on our Twitter and Pinterest.

Is there a new pattern you'd like us feature? Email me!

  1. Thank you so much for the link! I'm hoping to figure out how to make iron-on patterns some day, then launch a line of nerdy awesome, but meanwhile I've got all sorts of new free patterns to post to the blog...

...as soon as I get my broken computer working again. *shakes fist at technology*

Giddy's piece is awesome, and the running stitch combined with the variegated thread is pure genius.

Thank you again much for the mention!

  2. Very cool. I'd love to see the piece when it's finished. I'm working on an octopus right now, but it's no where near as detailed as that one.

  6. I thought I'd come back and let you know that I finally fixed my computer, and have posted a new pattern (with added geekery) in celebration: http://corvustristis.wordpress.com/2010/09/12/a-farewell-to-torosaurus/

Now I've just got to get the rest of the ones that piled up while my computer was out scanned.
