Comments issues?

Hey guys - quick question - I've received a few emails from people having problems commenting on our posts. Have you had problems leaving comments lately?

If you have a moment, please try to leave a comment on this post as a test. If you can't leave a comment, there's a poll in the sidebar where you can say so.

This is also a great opportunity for the shy peeps out there to de-lurk. :) Hey, I might even send a little something out as a surprise "thank you" if you leave a comment and help us out! ;)

Hi, I'm floresita, editor of Feeling Stitchy. I'm an avid stitcher, knitter, and crafter. You can see more of my stitching on Instagram and my blog. My vintage transfer collection is on Vintage Transfer Finds.

Feel free to email me with any ideas for the blog!

  2. I noticed a few issues with it yesterday and I figured it was just my computer being weird, what with the solar flares and all. :)

  3. I don't know if it helps but my blogger is set up to send me an email when people leave comments on my blog and that hasn't been happening for the last week, I think it needs a visit to the docs!

  4. let's give it a try, from a kind-of-lurker-but-huge-fan!

  8. Let's see if this works..go go super comment test!

  9. For what it's worth, I did have to scroll down to find the CAPTCHA codes and the final "publish" button to complete the comment process - would that cause problems for some folks?

  10. Delurking to try leaving a comment. I love all the beautiful handwork you share on this blog!

  16. There have been a lot of blogs lately where I have had major problems commenting and just given up. Some of the CAPTCHA based programs have been IMPOSSIBLE for me to read! Then after about 4 tries, and I'm positive I've gotten the words right, I'm given a new CAPTCHA to solve! Let's see if I can leave a comment here... OK, you have one of the CAPTCHA systems that's really really hard for me to read, so I'll try again. It wouldn't let me leave a comment with my name and URL so let's see if it works with my google account.

  17. commenting! no problems so far.... let's see what happens when i try to publish...
(is this on blogger? i always have trouble commenting with blogger. so much so that i usually just don't comment, just to avoid frustration.)

but i love feeling stitchy! keep it up, floresita!

  18. I'm not having a problem leaving a comment, although it did require me to hit publish three times. :) Once for it to "take" that I was signing in from my google account. Once to actually try to publish it. And the third because now it was showing a captcha and I could enter the captcha information.

  19. (p.s. it's possible that the first time I hit publish just happen to coincide with it reloading as it "registered" that I was commenting as my google account)

  24. Testing...I often have issues on blogger. Perhaps it's just me :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think it works! ; )
    Try the name/url solution.

    ReplyDelete
  26. testing...

oh, you're using the word verification. blogger's new word verification is awful.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have no problems.
    I love the blog.

  28. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! I used my google account and solved the impossibly hard question. I'm having the same problems on my blog. Someone told me it has to do with embedded comments. I switched to a pop up window in my blog editing choices and all seems well now. Good luck. I love your blog and read along weekly. Thanks for being here!

  29. I don't recall having any problems commenting. I can see how some people would, those 2 word protections are super blurry.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Let's see if this works. I'm pretty quiet, but I love looking at the beautiful stitchy eye candy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've given up on a lot of blogs lately, IMPOSSIBLE to comment. I'll give this a go. . .

    ReplyDelete
  32. I've heard similar concerns on my blog- good idea running a test.
It's working fine for me here!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I admit it, I'm a lurker. Everything you post inspires me tremendously, and I just wanted you to know. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Another Lurker commenting! I enjoy your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hello! Yes - I guess this is my first comment here though I'm watching your blog for a while :).

  38. Work's for me too

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yep, has been working for me, too. By the way, I'm so glad that you posted the link to Wild Olive back in the stitchalong post. I had actually never visited her site, and I'm so grateful for finding another really cool blog! Thanks a bunch! :) C

  41. I normally don't have a problem posting. :) I love this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I haven't had any issues besides trying to read the new capchas.

    ReplyDelete
  43. My comments are always held until approved (or something to that effect) and to be honest I never bother to check later to see if they actually show up.

    ReplyDelete
  44. This is a test of the Blogger commenting system. This is only a test. Had this been a real comment, there would have been various witty remarks.

    ReplyDelete
  45. hello! your website is filled with such beautiful things! the commenting works for me!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've been able to leave a comment this time, but in the past, I have had problems on blogs like yours where the comments are on the same page as the blog post. On my blog, I have the comments box set to open in a new window, and that seems to be ok. I think it depends on the browser that people are using (e.g. which version of Internet Explorer, etc.)Let me know if you need any help with this.

I also agree that the new Captcha images are really difficult sometimes!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I've had issues too. We think it's blogger, but it's not regular enough for me to figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  48. works for me (but the capchas are a problem for me too)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I haven't commented in a while, but here's my test! Love your blog and all the inspiration you give us.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I've never had problemas to comment, but I'm testing now... I must say the word verification might sometimes be annoying, but hey, we can live with that! though there is an option to take it out...

PD I've just started march's stitchalong!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Here's my test post -- I am fairly new to the site and really enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Trying to post my first comment. I'm a new follower of this blog and also new to embroidery beyond counted cross-stitch.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't recall having any trouble commenting on your site.

  54. generic test comment...

    ReplyDelete
  55. hello..delurking...seems fine to me..

    ReplyDelete
  56. Seeing of this will post to you.

    ReplyDelete
  57. First comment...

    ReplyDelete
  58. It redirects me briefly to the captcha, but then puts me back on the original page when I try to comment as a wordpress account.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I've posted recently, and it worked fine - just trying again...

    ReplyDelete
  60. I've always been able to comment. Hope you get it worked out :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Another lurker delurking to try!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Commenting is fun. Hope you work out the bugs. Happy Spring Forward Day.

  63. Testing...testing...

A couple of times I've not been able to leave a comment, but I can't remember any specifics.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm such a lurker, I never leave comments...

  65. Hi, love the Feeling Stitchy blog, and hope this works. I laughed when i saw 'now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party' among the comments, I had to learn that so many years ago haha!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I've had some trouble leaving comments - not just here by recently I also had trouble posting a couple of comments on Lucky's website. I think the problem is with Google's new policies. Here I go... we'll see if it works! I've been mostly lurking for ages, but I am a huge fan of Feeling Stitchy. If I only had access to one blog, this would be it!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well, that seemed to work as it gave me the opportunity to sign in. Previously, and on Lucky's site as I mentioned I got a window asking me to start a blog on Blogger (which I don't want to do). Over the years I have learned to always copy and paste my comments into a text/note-taking program before I hit "publish" or "send" (I use Notational Velocity on my Mac) so I don't risk losing what I have written. I also add the URL of the page. If I choose "Services" from my browsers menu I get an option to "NV: New note with selection" and it automatically sends my selected comment to Notational Velocity with a link to the page. I'm sure there are other good programs (I also like MacJournal and Journaler and I've heard some good things about Evernote but I can't use the latter because I'm still using system 10.4.11) but NV is simple and quick and automatically syncs with "the cloud" so that I can access my notes from Simplenote on my iPod Touch (or if I had either, an iPhone or iPad). It's nice having a backup of all of my writing.... Cheers!
