Friday Instagram Finds No. 21 with Ria Paramita

Hi there! Here in the Midwest of the United States (I'm in Illinois), the sun is setting earlier, and the weather is sometimes warm and beautiful, and sometimes a little chilly. Fall is definitely on its way! I definitely live in the wrong climate, because I would love to have warm and sunny weather all day, every day!

Today let's take a look at @_riaparamita_ from Osaka, Japan. I found her because she used #feelingstitchyig on some of her photos, and boy am I glad she did! Her work is so pretty and delicate, with great detail. Read on, and make sure you read until the end, because I've added a bonus account that has nothing to do with stitching.

@_riaparamita_

Ria's floss painted cat head is so well done, and her picture is styled so nicely. I like the different colors she used to give the illusion of fur on the cat.

These embroidered succulent brooches are so cute! The detail on the succulents and the pottery is wonderful, and I like how she made these into brooches to be worn on people instead of walls.

In her caption, Ria says that she likes New Balance tennis shoes. Well, I like her embroidered version of the shoes, too! That's a lot of detailed work she's included, and the bows on the laces add a really nice touch.

GAH! This doll that Ria made her daughter is so precious! I don't know if I like the embroidered eyes and mouth or cute little crocheted bikini more.

Bonus Account: @walterthechi
It's no secret I'm a pet lover, and I love Chihuahuas in particular. I came across Walter the Chihuahua several months ago, and I love to see his costumes and expressions. If my little Chihuahua, Zuzu, would cooperate with me instead of being a diva, she could be famous like Walter, too. You can find Zuzu here on my personal account.

Friday Instagram Finds No. 14

Hi there! This week I'm featuring @cut_and_rum on Friday Instagram Finds. I have not been able to figure out the name of the person behind the stitching, but I have figured out that the language I read in the posts is Portuguese :) I absolutely adore the designs @cut_and_rum creates! They are old school tattoo designs, which are my favorite and what most of my tattoos are. Old school tattoos are often simplistic without being childish, they feature clean lines, they're colorful, and poignant. I urge you to head over to her Instagram account and check her work out!

@cut_and_rum

The black panther is a staple of tattooers, and like tattoos, this panther will last forever. Cut and Rum's stitching is flawless - just look at that satin stitching!!

This envelope in a hand is Cut and Rum's latest piece. I don't know if she's going to fill in with colors, but either way, it does and will look amazing.

Is this a merbunny? Or a bunnymaid? Or would it be called something else? Once again, the satin stitching is beautiful. I especially like the shading on the bunny.

Cacti are really hot in fashion and home decor right now, and this flowered cactus is no exception! I also like the hints of tattoo flash we can see in the backgrounds of many of the pictures.

I showed my husband Cut and Rum's Instagram account, and this Death's Head Moth tattoo was his favorite. I can't say enough about her beautiful satin stitching. As is so often the case with tattoos, moth tattoos have interesting meaning. They're similar to the symbolism of butterfly tattoos in that they're a symbol of our souls and their transformative nature. But moth tattoos represent our dark subconscious.
