A Rainbow of Stitches

As you all know, I am crazy for needle crafts, well we all are or we wouldn't be here right? I am always on the lookout for a good stitching book. I recently found one in Watson Guptill's A Rainbow of Stitches, and let me tell you it does not disappoint. Just as the title implies, each section of the book is broken down into color and types of projects. It is a nice how to guide with everything you need to do fun and great looking stitching projects. It takes you step by step from transferring a pattern, to picking the best floss and fabric, to the best stitch to use. The projects are inspiring and the pictures are beautiful. All this in one great little package!! So whether you are an embroiderer or a cross stitcher, A Rainbow of Stitches has a project just for you.

This will not come as a surprise to anyone that knows me but, I'm a big fan of the "pink" section!

  3. I love that pink silhouette on the sweater :).

Great timing for this post, because I just got the book in today's mail and did a quick skim-through of it, and loved what I saw. I can't wait to go back through it more slowly, paying more attention to the details.

I haven't cross-stitched in a decade or longer, but there are some cute x-stitch designs in there that are mighty tempting!

  4. I saw your cameo and just love it! Great colour choice. Can't wait to get my hands on this book.

  5. I'm certainly putting this one on my Birthday Wish list! :)

  6. I'm so excited to go get this book! The cameo is SO cute.

  7. i saw you mention this around the holidays and have been eyeing it ever since.

the post was perfect timing as a reminder - with the subversive x-stitch book on sale on amazon today, i needed more books to bring my total up past $25! (they always sucker me in with that!)

  8. Woo! Another fab book to add to my Wish List.
