Comments feedback giveaway winner!

Hi all, thank you so much for giving me feedback on Disqus, our commenting system. The majority of responses were favorable, but it sounds like people on tablets and phones do encounter issues. I received 1 comment by email, from someone who couldn't comment at all.

I'll continue doing research on our comments system - if anyone has any ideas to contribute, please feel free to email me at unafloresita@gmail.com!

Here's our winner in the comments giveaway, who will soon be enjoying, by request, her very own copy of The Embroidered Garden by Kazuko Aoki:

Hi - I have never had an issue leaving comments w/ Discus. I love the blog and the inspiration I find here! Have a great week.

Thanks again to all!

Winner of The Hand Stitched Flower Garden

We have our winner for the giveaway of The Hand-Stitched Flower Garden by Yuki Sugashima!

I like stitching best in the winter. There is no gardening to do and the Christmas gifts are all done, so I have time to be creative. I take a stitching staycation every January to get my juices flowing for the new year. Margo Brooks

Thank you to everyone for entering our giveaway, to Michelle for her wonderful review, and to the publisher who so generously sent us a copy to review and a copy to give away!

Just so you know, our links to Amazon contain an Amazon Associates code, so if you purchase a book through one of these links, that's another small way to support our blog and future giveaways. Thanks everyone!

Winner of the 10 Year, 10 Item giveaway!

We have a winner in the 10 Year, 10 Item giveaway!

I've been reading for about a year, but I can't remember how I found it...I might have been searching for a technique. My favorite tool is an embroidery hoop I inherited from my great-grandmother. It's a perfectly ordinary hoop, but I like knowing that it was hers.

We sent out lots of wonderful prizes to our winner, thank you for all of your comments and for sharing your favorite stitching tools!

10 Year Giveaway Final Prizes

The 10 prizes I picked for her were:

Thank you everyone, for taking part in our giveaway and for reading us and enjoying our Flickr Embroidery group for the past 10 years!

Something old, something new...(and a giveaway winner too!)

Goodfella Clown

Brilliant! Poppy (Experimentl on Flickr) added a quote from the movie Goodfellas to this vintage pattern making it quite a nasty scene all of a sudden! The clown alone creeps me out a little bit anyway...but his pom pom made with a Turkey Stitch is a nice touch! The Turkey stitch is a fun stitch and quite easy to master. Check out this video tutorial by Di van Niekerk to see how it's done!

Moving on to the Sewn by Hand giveaway winner. Thanks for all your stories of the stitching/knitting/embroidering you all do in public. It was fun to read that lots of crafting actual takes place outside the house, even if it's only on the porch. :)  Random.org chose Erica as a winner! Erica said:  "I do some hand sewing when finishing some of my needlework projects, but not a ton of it. I have to admit that I just got a brand new sewing maching and I'm rather enjoying playing with it! (...)"  Congratulations Erica! Please contact me at follow the white bunny [ at ] e-tropolis [ dot ]  nl  and let me know your full name and address.

Here's the breakdown of the votes:

We have a winner!

There was a LOT of movement in the voting yesterday, with LadyHazard's entry swinging in to second and Jacque's entry into third. I sat down with some embroidery last night and had a great time monitoring the end of the contest.

Remember that each of our category finalists will be receiving prizes as well! Each winner will receive a package with a bit of the following: embroidery floss, pdf patterns, vintage patterns, fat quarters, blank tea towels or pillowcases. Winners: please Flickrmail me, floresita, with your address so we can get your package sent out to you.

Thank you so much to everyone who entered this contest, everyone who voted, and all of our finalists. This was an amazing showing of talent.
